The Yakima Pickleball Club was formed to promote pickleball in our community, while sharing their love of the game and to organize playing opportunities, learning opportunities and to have a place where people can just show up and play.

Spring Pickleball Lessons at Franklin Park

Meet your instructor! Danielle Polage lives in Yakima.  She is a Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certified instructor who plays competitive pickleball at the Sr. Pro Level.  She regularly competes in high level tournaments and has won many medals at the 5.0 and Open Division.  She is sponsored by Selkirk, one of the largest pickleball paddle companies in the world, locally based in Hayden Lake, Idaho.  She is a university professor at CWU and loves teaching.  She is fun and passionate about sharing her love of pickleball with the Yakima Valley.

Introduction to Pickleball – Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States!  Come experience the thrill of the game.  No previous racquet sports experience required.  All equipment provided.  Come with a full water bottle, court shoes, and get ready to have a great time!  You will learn the basic rules of the game, the fundamental strokes, and play games.  Get ready to become a pickleball addict! Ages 16 and up.
Fee:  $60 resident discount/$75 non-resident
Session 1:  Monday/Wednesday’s           4/3, 4/5, 4/10 and 4/12            4:30-5:20 pm
Session 2: Tuesday’s                                4/4 and 4/11                            11am-12:20 pm
Session 3:  Thursday’s                              4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18                12:15-1:05 pm

Pickleball Strokes- 2.5-3.0 – Some pickleball or other racquet sport experience required.  You will learn backhand, dinking, 3rd shot drops, volleys, and will begin to learn strategy.  Pickleball has been likened to chess on a court and you will discover why! You will take your game to the next level. Ages 16 and up.
