November Volunteer of the Month

Meet Sharon! She is originally from Ansonia, CT. She moved to Yakima when she married her husband David. In 2012, she started volunteering at the Harman Center. Sharon and her husband, David, help with a variety of duties and events at the center. She is in charge of the Soups and Sandwiches on Monday and Tuesdays, Saturday Breakfast, Purchasing for Breakfast and Lunches, helps at the Front Desk, and is the Treasurer of Senior Citizens, Inc.

Sharon has been in the Yakima Community for a long time. She and her husband have one daughter. She went to school for Nail Technician and worked in a variety of nail salons around the Yakima area. She is part of our knitting/crocheting group and TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) group at the Harman Center since 2011. She enjoys crocheting, quilting, and going to the beach.

Sharon said, “She enjoys volunteering at the Harman Center because she loves being around people.” She is a delight to have as part of our Volunteer Team. Her husband commented, “My life sure got better when she came around.” Come down to the Harman Center and meet Sharon as well as some of our other Volunteer All-Stars.
