Carl Burmaster is the Harman Center’s January Volunteer of the Month. He is 89. He is originally from Sedro-Woolley, WA. He has been married for 64 years and has four children (2 sons and 2 daughters). He moved to Yakima 25 years ago to be close to his children and grandchildren. Carl used to enjoy playing Tennis on a regular basis and was part of the Yakima Tennis Club. One of his favorite past times now is reading.
Carl helps in the kitchen at the Harman Center. He started volunteering over 20 years ago. He was on a bowling league and one of his fellow teammates showed up late every time. He asked why and she stated that they needed more help at the Harman Center during lunches. He decided he wanted to help out and has been a dependable and respected volunteer ever since. He is our dishwasher at Friday lunch. His favorite part of being a volunteer at the Harman Center is the people. Join us for lunch at the Harman Center on Friday and meet Carl, as well as, some of our other all-star volunteers!
